Transforming the lives of people with disabilities.

Serving the Most Vulnerable

World Health Organization (WHO) statistics currently show that 1billion people are living with a disability today. The global perspective on disability can be observed not just in spoken ideologies, but in polity, society, law, religion, and other sociological presentations.

The effects of disability do not let up, they are daily, hourly, and can offer challenges by the minute, even. For many there is no abatement, no end in sight or the promise of a cure. Struggle and despair are too often the resulting experience.

With more than 15% of the world population experiencing disability, it is likely that most people know of someone who is affected by disability. Our Mission is the pursuit of Christ-centered transformation in the lives of those impacted by disability.

A Brief History of TEF:

Since the founding of The Elisha Foundation (TEF) in 2005 the ministry has grown from a single, small family retreat serving five families with just 4 volunteers to regular retreats serving ten families at a time with 20+ volunteers. Our volunteers average 7,000 hours of service with TEF, annually. We’ve advanced from family retreats to respite nights and disability training in Oregon to other States and beyond.

Throughout the life of  TEF we’ve steadily expanded our work overseas driven by the dire needs of those affected by disability globally.  We endeavor to strategically provide training and outreach in cross-cultural contexts where disability related resources are scarce and stigma marks those impacted by disability.

Pursuing Christ-centered transformation in the lives of people affected by disability is our core Mission.
